Event / announcement: 29 November 2026
London’s O2 arena has scheduled The Fellowship of the Ring in Concert for 29 November 2026, with two performances listed. The event marks twenty-five years since the film’s release.
The announced performers are the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Crouch End Festival Chorus and Trinity Boys’ Choir, conducted by Ludwig Wicki. The format places the film on screen while its score is performed in the venue.
A live screening changes the way a familiar film is heard. Musical passages usually absorbed within the complete soundtrack become visible acts of performance: an entrance, a change of texture, the exact coordination needed to meet a scene.
The scale of an arena adds another dimension to that experience. Viewers will be sharing both the film and the effort required to perform its music in real time. With two screenings listed for the same day, visitors should check the venue’s current information for the particular performance they intend to attend.
